About Us

NUMA represents a team of multi-skilled aerial, marine and underwater professionals brought together to provide a safe, reliable and economical approach to any production no matter how remote or environmentally hostile the location.

We have participated in more than 150 productions worldwide from the Tropics to the Polar Ice Caps, many in remote locations under extreme conditions and working with large predatory animals. These productions have given us the opportunity to work alongside some of the finest technicians in the international film and television industry. Through this association and the development of specific equipment and procedures NUMA has forged an incredible depth of experience.

Experience is essential when assessing potential risks and developing the solutions to manage such risks.

Our crew members excel in many areas of the marine and underwater industries. Some have military, commercial or scientific diving experience, others have reached the peaks of the Technical and Recreational diver training industry. Many list a variety of international marine qualifications in addition to experience in mechanical or electrical engineering and electronics.

All crew members are trained in emergency first response including fire fighting, rescue, first aid and resuscitation. Some are also trained and certified in the use of portable heart defibrillators.

NUMA continues to evolve, meeting the demands of the changing economic climate.

Our primary focus is on two major areas:

  1. The development of a nucleus of multi-skilled personnel enabling us to reduce crew sizes without compromising the safety and integrity of a production. In addition to their specific technical skills, crew members are also experienced in a variety of production skills.

  2. The choice of the most appropriate, robust, reliable and field serviceable equipment, minimising potential downtime and hire costs. The streamlining of equipment packaging has also resulted in the significant reduction of weight and transportation costs.
